RÉUNION ISLAND RUM TRADITIONNEL

Introducing the Réunion Island Rum Traditionnel, a molasses-based beauty from Distillerie de Savanna, tropically aged in ex-cognac casks for three years and bottled in New York at 46% ABV.

Once a common ingredient in tiki cocktail recipes of the golden era, this molasses rum style has been unavailable in the US for a very long time– until now. When the new generation of tiki fans began to rediscover tiki’s classic recipes, some of those early recipes called for simply Martinique rum. Unaware that Martinique’s main production style and US imports had changed, many have used cane juice rum in their recreations of classic cocktail recipes. Fortunately, on France’s Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean, molasses rum production continues. Bringing the Réunion Island Rum Traditionnel to the US restores a lost flavor, whether you enjoy retro or modern cocktail recipes.
